October 2011 (by Trevor, organiser of our event at The Hertfordshire)
We met at the Hertfordshire on Sunday 23rd October for our last meeting of the season. A total of 22 players took part including 2 new prospective members, Ruth and Joe. The Hertfordshire is a good test of golf with a tough finishing 6 holes, which reminded some of our group of Scottish courses not a course near London. It is one of my favourite courses of those we play in spite of the woods and water claiming 4 of my balls in the last 6 holes. Before we started Ariela stated that her Club handicap had been reduced to 22 and she played off this new handicap. This made her win with 39 points very impressive, well done. She will now be cut even further!! She was followed by Adrian in 2nd place with 35 points and John in 3rd place with 33 points beating 3 others on count back. Nearest the pin on 15th hole was won by Ruth. For a change instead of longest drive we did nearest the pin in 2 on 12th hole, this being possible for everyone to have a chance as this was reachable for all in 2. It was, however, won by Tom, who is one of the longest hitters, but at least he showed he was not only long but accurate.

Afterwards we enjoyed drinks in the bar whilst the prizegiving was made for this meeting by our Captain, Neil. This was followed by the presesentation of the President's Balls (the person with the best 5 Sunday rounds) made by our President, Martin to the winner, Captain Neil. An excellent achievement as this was done with the added distractions of being the Captain.

We now look forward to our next meeting which is the Christmas get together and Dinner.

October 2011 (by Ian, organiser of our event at Hoebridge)
It was glorious weather at the penultimate even of the year which was held at Hoebridge. 19 hungry golfers amassed at the first tee. Hungry for victory that is, not hungry for food as they had just had some rather good bacon rolls served by the very helpful staff at the club.

We got off 10 minutes early and this was obviously a good omen as it led to one of the fastest rounds of golf that we have had in a long time.

As usual there was some great golf played. Also some well hit, but rather risky drives from one of our gathering who seemed hell-bent on taking out our Captain designate before his tenure next year.  No names will be mentioned!

This was the day of the matchplay final and it was a very close match in which Richard B. just managed to pip Malcolm G. Well done Richard, a well-deserved trophy to add to his collection. Roll on next year.

So with the autumnal sun setting as we enjoyed the balmy weather we handed out the prizes with the longest drive going to Mark B. Nearest the pin on the tricky 12th hole going to Terry H. and the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd going to Weng C, John D and Neil W respectively.

"RACE TO THE PRESIDENT'S BALLS" (by the Captain)
The competition will go to the last event at The Hertfordshire on 23rd Oct.  With the best 5 scores to count from the Sunday events, three people are in with a chance of winning. The Captain, Neil W, has a lowest score of 8 which he could drop and score a maximum of 51 pts if he wins at The Hertfordshire.  Steve P has  a lowest score of 6.5 and if he wins will gain a maximum of 49 pts which if Neil finishes 2nd he will score 49pts as well.  If this is the case Steve P would win having gained a first place on his own at Darenth Valley. Dave H, however has a lowest score of 4 which if he wins will take his overall score to 49.5 and win the coveted trophy.

September 2011 (Secretary's blog)
Surprisingly the event held at Farleigh Golf Club on 4th September was oversubscribed – we had 25 entrants compared with the original target of 24, but were able to get a further tee time, which ultimately proved unnecessary as 2 entrants had to pull out.

The weather at Farleigh failed to disappoint in that, as usual when we have played there, for a good deal of the round there was fairly heavy rain and brisk winds. Notwithstanding this, all but 5 entrants (one of them was me!) completed the round and some came in with surprisingly good scores.

The winner was Richard Bl on 40 points, followed by Malcolm G on 39 points and Dave H on 37. Longest drive went to Takashi S and nearest the pin to Dave H.

The field included two prospective new members, Will S (playing for the first time) and Mark A.

President's Balls

After 7 events counting towards the winning of the President's Balls, the leader board is hotting up.  Presently the positions are as follows:

Neil W 42.5pts (5 events)
Dave H 37.5pts (4 events)
Steve P 37pts  (5 events)
Malcolm G 25.5pts (4 events)
Kevin D 25pts (5 events)

Steve, Malcolm & Kevin all have one event in which they did not score in so can increase their overall score significantly in the remaining 2 events.  Dave still has one more event to count having only entered 4 events so far and with a lowest score of 7.5.   Neil has a lowest score of 3.5 so has room to improve his final overall score. This contest will certainly go down to the wire with anyone of the top 5 contenders in the running.

August 2011 (Captain's blog)
Sunday 14th August was the 6th event this year and was held at Park Wood Golf Club in Tatsfield Kent. We were given a warm welcome by the club secretary and looked after well by the catering staff.  The course is some 6500 yds off the yellow tees and personally I found it a lovely venue. Nice and quiet with the exception of the odd Spitfire flying overhead. The greens were I must admit a tad slow and were difficult to hold the ball on but all in all a good test of golf as the scores testified to.
Richard B played Kevin D in the quarter final of the Matchplay. In a very close game Richard B came out on top 1up. He now faces Tahashi S in the semi final.  The remaining quarter final to be played is between Trevor P & Malcolm G with the winner to meet Ken C.
The Nearest the Pin on the 14th was won by the President, Martin H, and the Longest Drive on the 12th was won by Will P.
In the overall standings 3rd with 32pts was Richard B, 2nd beating him on count back also with 32pts was the Captain, Neil W.  The winner with a score of 36pts was Dave H.  Well done to all and thank you to those that attended.

The current position for the President's Balls, the society order of merit in which the best 5 positional scores count, are as follows:

1st Neil W 42.5pts  (5 scoring events)
2nd Steve P 30pts (4 scoring events)
3rd Dave H 29.5pts (3 scoring events)
Tied 4th Ann L 20pts (4 scoring events) & Kevin D 20pts (5 scoring events)

The next event is at Farleigh Golf Club (formerly know as Farleigh Court) on Sunday 4th September. This is followed with our annual trip to Bournemouth (21st - 25th September).

July 2011 (Captain's blog)
This years Captain’s Day(s) took place at Wokefield Park near Reading over the weekend 2nd & 3rd July. The Captain organised some stunning weather for both days. The course was in immaculate condition and the players needed to keep out of the heavy rough not to spoil their scores. Fourteen players turned up for the Saturday event and it was good to see some old faces! from the South West.

The scoring was not high but this was partly due to the round taking over 5 hours. Takashi came out on top with 34 points beating Eddy M and the Captain, Neil W (on his home course) both on 33 points. Takashi also beat Neil 3&2 in the Matchplay. Richard B also played a matchplay against Clare B and he won 5&4. The nearest the pin on both the 12th & 17th were won by David H. Surprising what a good bottle of Rioja as a prize can do to inspire some people.

Sunday saw 23 players line up to try to win the Captain’s Trophy, which was won last year by Ian T the then Captain. The scoring was always going to be higher than on Saturday as not a breath of wind was felt all day.  The Captain, Neil W, was first in with a respectable 34 points but this was never going to be enough as with each group the scoring got higher. The eventual winner was John C with 39 points (improving by 11 points on his previous days score) followed by Andrew G on 38ponts and Dave H on 37points. The nearest the pin on 12th was Richard B, on 17th was Ju and the longest drive was Peter H. A special “Ray of Hope” prize was given to Steve E.

Thank you to all that turned up and I look forward to seeing you in Wales or Park Wood on August 14th.

June 2011 (by Clarke, organiser of the Darenth Valley event)
We had a nice day, and a good round of golf at Darenth Valley, with the weather throwing everything at us – as seems to be the norm for this month. We teed off in sunshine, but just a few holes later were battered by what I think they call a ‘sharp shower’. Woe betide you if you didn’t have an umbrella because, though short, it was a real soaker. Rain threatened again on the back nine, but we escaped relatively unscathed.

I played with the Captain who threatened to sweep all before him, especially when he chipped in for 3 on the par-4 10th, but lost a bit of form coming home, and could only manage third on 37 points – a shocking drop in form I’m sure you’ll agree. Dave Hw, who is dangerously mobile again, pulled off second with a very credible 38, but Steve P had a cracking round and took first on 40 points. It was all very crowded in the mid-30s, with 11 players scoring between 31 and 36.

Alistair took the prize for Longest Drive, so no surprises there. Mark, having had a go at me for being indecisive about choosing the NP hole, took the prize for a great shot on what is a hard green to hold – he’s such a good moaner!

May 2011 (President's blog)
8th May 2011.  17 members played at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club.  We were made very welcome by Ashleigh, the Events Consultant, and Andrew, in charge of the bar and catering.

It was a difficult, blustery day, but made easier by overnight rain.  Tom had a hole in one at the 14th, the 5th for the society in its 14 years of existence.  A good average.  Thanks for the drink!

Results:
1st - Neil W  34 points
2nd - Steve P  34 points on count-back
3rd -  Weng C  32 points
Longest Drive - Malcolm G
Nearest the Pin -  Malcolm G

Well done to all the winners.  Looking forward to the Torquay trip next week and Darenth Valley in June.

May 2011 (Captain's blog)
Here is an update on the President's Balls for this year. After three rounds of Sunday competition the order of merit for the prestigious trophy- THE PRESIDENT's BALLS is as follows:

1st Neil W 22 points (2 rounds)
2nd Steve P 18 points (2 rounds)
3rd Kevin D 13.5 points (3 rounds)
4th Ann L 13 points (3 rounds)
5th Mark B 12.5 points (3 rounds)

April 2011 (Vice Captain's blog)
On a glorious April afternoon, The Irons  second Sunday game of the year took place at Aldenham in Hertfordshire.

It turned out to be a very eventful day for Ariela C, as not only did her vehicle break down on the way to the course but that on the 2nd hole, she managed to sprain her wrist (quite how I can’t imagine!) but carried on womanfully to complete her round!

The event was very closely contested with ten players within two points of each other which proves just how accurate our handicapping system is maintained, well done Trevor P.

The winner on the day was that “oh so consistent “ Malcolm G on 34 pts, winning on count-back from Godfrey J, in spite of lack of sleep the night before, and  our one-wristed Ariel C.

The longest drive prize went to Tom S and nearest the Pin with a great 8 iron shot to Mark B, just pipping Adrian T again!

At the same time a couple of first round matchplay games took place. Malcolm G comfortably beat Alan W by 3&2, whilst a titanic struggle was fought out by the President, Martin H and Vice Captain Adrian T. The match ended up all square after 18, even though Adrian T had been 3 up after 10, and went down the 19th hole. The match concluded there after Martin H hit his approach into the bunker and Adrian T holed out for a 5 net 4. Book makers across the world sighed with relief at this unprecedented outcome!!

April 2011 (Immediate Past Captain's blog)
12 members of the Iron's Golf Society attended the 2011 Spring Tour in Belek, Turkey in early April. Five courses were played over the week culminating on the long and well maintained Gloria New Course. The weather was superb for most of the time and a quick shower on the final day failed to stop the devastating form of James L. who ran away with the Spey Bay Trophy by scoring 43 points, a full 6 points ahead of Richard B with Martin H. coming third with 33.5.

The matchplay knockout competition was also won by James L. who was in such devastating form that his handicap will now be cut to 7. Well done to James, who was a worthy champion and will possess the Spring Tour Match play putter for the next year.

Steve E. won a once in a lifetime opportunity to win a hole in one competition when he nailed a perfect shot to within 3 metres of the pin on the Gloria New Course. He now gets a free trip to travel to Kitzbuhel in Austria in September to have the chance of winning 1,000,000 Euros in a hole-in-one competition.

Everyone travelled home on the Sunday night after watching Rory's sad end to his challenge in the US Masters. Roll on next year!

April 2011 (Captain's blog)
The first meeting of the year took place at Surrey National on Sunday 27th March. In weather unseasonably warm for this time of year, 21 valiant souls set out on what they hoped would be a great day in both scoring and golfing terms. How quickly these dreams were shattered. The course was in good condition although the greens were still recovering from the bad winter. Well any excuse for not sinking those short putts!

The nearest the pin on the 150yd 13th was won by the Captain, Neil W. The longest drive on the final hole was unbelievably a tie. I think the last group saw the Captain’s name was leading and thought a good idea to say that Tom S had equalled and not surpassed that drive.

The final result was 1st (on count back) Neil W with 35 points, 2nd Ann L with 35 points (after scoring a fantastic 24 points on the front 9) 3rd (on count back) Kevin D with 33 points from Ken C and Steve P.

Well done to all and we look forward to the next event on Sunday 17th April at Aldenham.

October 2010
So, on to the last event of the year, after a splendid day at Hoebridge which started out a bit misty and cloudy but by the end of the round, there was glorious sunshine and we all sat outside for presentation ceremony.  Champion of the day went to our new American friend Tom S, scoring 43 Points so his handicap will be reduced distinctly for the next event, in second place - coming back to form following his knee operation earlier this year, Dave H with 38 Points, and in third, very consistent playing from Takashi S with 36 points. The Longest Drive was won by a good beefy drive from Malcolm G and nearest the Pin, was won by Terry H, though none of us are absolutely sure in what fashion he managed it! [bloody cheek..Terry H!]

As for the President's Balls, it is all down to the last event, and as promised before the Farleigh Court match, a full run down of the runners and riders in contention for the prize are as follows: ( as well as their number of scores / and number of events played! ). Remember, only five events out of eight can count and should anyone score in more than five, the lowest score is deducted.

Leading at the moment, is Doc Martin (President) with 30 Pts, with five scores (already in) so he has to better 3.50 to add to his score.

In 2nd Place  - Ken C with 26 Pts, with only four scores, therefore any score at The Hertfordshire will add to Ken's total.

In 3rd Place -  the Immediate Past Captain, Mark B with 24.50 Pts, with only three scores - so any score at the Hertfordshire will add to Mark's total

4th Place - Malcolm G with 23 Pts, with only three scores  - so any score at the Hertfordshire will add to Malcolm's total

5th Place - Alistair C with 23 Pts as well, with fours scores, therefore any score at The Hertfordshire will add to Alistair's total.

6th Place - New boy Tom S with 21 Pts, as well, with only two scores, therefore any score at the Hertfordshire will add to Tom's total

7th Place - Melissa C with 20 Pts, as well, with only two scores, therefore any score at the Hertforshire will add to Melissa's total

8th Place - Takashi S with 18.50 Pts, as well, with only three scores, therefore any score at the Hertforshire will add to Takahi's total

9th Place - Captain T with 18.50 Pts as well, with only four scores, therefore any score at the Hertfordshire will add to Ian's total

Therefore, it should be an exciting final event!

July 2010
Since, I last wrote after the fourth Sunday event, we have had Captain's Weekend and the Wales Tour which have both gone exceptionally well.

Captain's Weekend, was a first at Wokefield Park and those of us who stayed over on the Saturday thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, with a super buffet meal as well.  As for Captain's Day, it was a triumphal day for the Captain, as for the first time in a while, the Captain won "his event" scoring 38 Points, and presented with the trophy by the Immediate Past Captain, Mark B (slightly damaged after a couple of knocks in the President's car on the way down!).  The longest drive was won by big hitter Alistair, and nearest the Pin by Ann. We had several matchplay ties, in which James L beat Clare B, and Melissa C beat Terry H on the 18th hole.

Just to clarify, that Captain's weekend is separate to the President Balls Competition, so though this was mentioned at the AGM, I will reiterate this again for any Members not present, that the scores for this event are not part of the overall President Ball's competition.

On to Wales, and remarkably even the weather behaved itself here as well, and though there were a few showers on only a couple of the days, it was probably the best weather we have ever had for the Wales Tour. The winners on each of the individual competitions days were as follows - Ju, Ken, James - well that was expected on his home course (Secretary in 2nd!), John D, and even the Immediate Past Captain, Mark.

The overall winner for the Wales Tour ended up being a tie for first on 24.5 points between Takashi and Eddy, with Ken in third on 23.5 points. The winner of Bessie's Bowl which are the best six scores between Weston and Wales went to Takashi, and finally the winner of the Pink Pot for the third year in succession was Jason!

On to the current standings for the President Balls, as we have played four events so far this year, and it is the best five events that count, I had been asked by Ken, to give us all a fuller update, so here goes - after 4 events - leading with 26 Points Ken C (with 4 events counting - lowest score 2.5 points, in second place our President, Martin with 22.5 points, (with 4 events counting - lowest score 3.5 points, in third place on 21 points, Alistair ( with 3 events counting - lowest score 3 points, and finally in fourth place, on 20 points, Melissa ( with 2 events counting - lowest score 10 points).

June 2010
Following an excellent event at Darenth Valley today, we now head across London to the west side and Wokefield Park for our Captain's Day.

Before the details on that, the results from Darenth Valley were as follows. In 1st place, with sheer straightness from Tee to Green (even if not far off the ground), was our Treasurer, David Hn winning with 39pts, in second place, with 37 Points our ever consistent  Ken C, with the Immediate Past Captain (Mark B), beating the present Captain (Ian T) on count-back for third place on 35 Points. Ken also won nearest the Pin, with the Captain taking the honours on the longest drive!

In the race for the President's Balls which is the best five scores from the eight Sunday events, after Darenth Valley, we now have another new leader, Our "Ken" is on 26 points leading by 3.5pts from the President, Martin H, and Alistair has crept up to 21, with our previous leader Melissa on 20 points. Unfortunately, Melissa wasn't able to join us today and increase her points tally because she wasn't too well, so we wish her a speedy recovery!

The fourth event of the season welcomed another new recent contact, Debi S, for the first time, so we all hoped she enjoyed her first outing and look forward to seeing her again soon.

Now - on to Wokefield Park, one of the best courses we play during the Irons Calendar Year.

May 2010
Following an excellent event at Aldwickbury Park, with a new challenging course and very interesting and pleasant surroundings, we now head for our fourth event of the year, which is only three weeks away!

As for the results from Aldwickbury Park, there was a sensational performance by "our" Alistair, with 43 Points, four points clear of Melissa in second place on 39, another excellent performance and the President stuck home in third, with 34 Points.

Martin, The President also won his matchplay event against Kevin, so a double celebration. The longest drive was comfortably won by the Captain after the Secretary (sheer surprise for all) was the only other person on the marker, and Nearest the Pin was also won by the Captain, squeezing inside a very good shot from Godfrey. Finally, the only celebration for Mr Consistent Ken, was winning a bottle of champagne in the raffle held by the Aldwickbury Park prior to today's round which we were all invited to enter!

In the race for the President's Balls which is the best five scores from the eight Sunday events, after Aldwickbury we now have a new leader in an increasingly tight leader board, with Melissa on 20.00, The President on 19.00 and Malcolm, our last leader on 16.50pts, with Ken just behind on 16.00 and Alistair, bounding his way into 5th on 15.00.

The third event of the season welcomed another new recent contact, Justin, who thoroughly enjoyed the event, and we also welcomed back from Thailand Michael T-W.

April 2010
Following our second event of the year at Aldenham, many of you next week will be heading to Weston for the first of our three main Irons Tour for 2010. I hope the weather is good and you all play well!

However, in order to make sure you do not forget the next Sunday event I am sending the invitation out in good time for Aldwickbury Park, as it is also our first time at this new venue for the Irons Golf Society.

As for the results from Aldenham, it seems it was very tight at the top, with the top three scores at 31 points, so congratulations go to Neil winning on count-back from Melissa, and the ever so consistent Ken. The Longest Drive was won by Melissa and Nearest the Pin by Clare, so well done to you all. In terms of the President's Balls, which will be the best five scores from the eight Sunday events, leading at the moment is Malcolm on 16.50 pts, with Mr Consistency, Ken just behind on 12.50 and Chris in 3rd on 12.00 following his victory in the first event.

The second event of the season welcomed a further two new players. And I wanted to add a welcome note from the Secretary to both Andrew and John who played their first rounds with the Society.

Now - on to Aldwickbury Park, this is a new venue for us, so all to play for and hopefully you all be delighted to know that the Secretary will at last be attending, so I am very much looking forward to seeing you all.

March 2010
As for the results from Stockley Park, very well done to Chris S, excellent performance winning on his first appearance with the Society with 43 points and having an awesome swing to go with it! So I look forward to seeing that later on in year when I rejoin you all back on the course. 2nd place went to ever consistent Malcolm G with 38 pts, just pipping Gene S into 3rd place with 37. As ever Ju, managed to find at least one good drive during the round and won the Longest drive competition, and our President nipped in for the final prize of Nearest the Pin.

The first event of the season is always good to catch up with friends and I seriously missed doing that this time around so best wishes to everyone, but I also wanted to add a welcome note from the Secretary to both Chris and Nigel who played their first rounds with the Society, and to Jonathon playing in his first Sunday event.

Now - on to Aldenham, as it happens it was my first ever Irons event back in 2004 and as I am sure many of you will remember, I certainly made it memorable for all those watching on the first tee! As I again will be absent owing to election campaigning, if you want a laugh ask Ken C to recount it.........I'm sure he'll be delighted too!

September 2009
Just to recap the result of the seventh Sunday event at Hoebridge today, the most consistent performer of the year was out in front again, as Neil W with another superb 42 points won, with the ever improving Terry H finishing 2nd with 41 points and Steve I beating Clarke H on countback for third place.  However, Clarke's excellent 39 points meant that she also became the first female winner of any of the Irons Trophy Competitions, winning the Matchplay Trophy with a 7&6 win over the Vice Captain Ian T. Clarke's scalps this year also included the Captain as well, so well done and congratulations to her on a superb Matchplay performance this year. Nearest the Pin was won by Clare, and Alistair won the longest drive with an approximate 350 yard drive - superb effort.  After, seven events, nobody has managed to score in six events, so all scores count in the final event of the year.  The scores in the President's Ball's race are as follows, Malcolm G leads by 4.5 points on 28.50 from Neil W on 24.00, Clarke H and the Captain share 3rd place on 23.00, however with neither Malcolm or Mark playing at Farleigh Court, the door is fully open with next event's winner earning 12.00 points means that Peter H, Godfrey J, Dave Hw and the reigning champion Alistair C can all take the title on the final day along with Neil and Clarke as the leading protagonists.

late August 2009
T
he result of the sixth Sunday event (at Stock Brook Manor) was another first time winner John D winning with 36 points, beating Takashi S on countback. Third place went to Godfrey J on countback from the Captain. After, six scores in the President's Ball's race, Malcolm G now leads by 2 points on 23.00 from the Captain in second place with 21.00, with Peter H in third and Godfrey chasing hard now in 4th alone on 18.00. However, 14 people are within one win of overtaking Malcolm G at the top, so it is all to play for in the final two Sunday events of the year at Hoebridge and Farleigh Court this year.

early August 2009
T
he result of the fifth Sunday event at The Hertfordshire: our winner was debutant Alan F, winning with 38 points, beating another relatively new Member, Malcolm G and an old stalwart, The Captain on countback with 19 points compared to 17 and 16 respectively for the other two. After, five events (best six scores count)  in the President's Ball's race, Malcolm G now leads by 3.25 points on 23.00 from Peter H in second, ten people are then in the race for 3rd, as all our within one win of catching Malcolm, leading the charge is Clarke on 15.50, then Trevor on 15.00 followed by the Captain on 13.50 alongside Dave Hw on 13.50.

July 2009
Just to recap the result of the fourth Sunday event at Wokefield Park, our winner was Percy S with 35 Points, followed by four people on 33 points, with Peter H and Melissa C capturing the two oth
er podium places beating on count-back Stephen H and Gary L.  Dave Hw won the longest drive and nearest the Pin  was won by a resurgent Clare. After four events (best six scores count)  in the President's Ball's race, Peter H has broken away from the log jam at the top of the leaderboard with 19.75, however the next six positions are separated by one and a half points, in order Dave Hw 13.50, Percy S and Malcolm G on 13.00, The Secretary 12.33, Steven H on 12.25, and Neil W 12.00.

June 2009
Just to recap the result of the third Sunday event at Donnington Valley, our winner was Neil W with 35 Points, who played very consistently followed by vast improving Godfrey J in second place with 33 and our vet from down "south" in more ways than one, was Peter H coming in third with 30 Points beating the Vice Captain Ian T into 4th place on countback.  The longest drive and nearest the Pin  was also won by Peter who scooped 3/5 of the prizes! Well Done Peter.  After three events (best six scores count)  in the President's Ball's race, the leaderboard is very congested with eight people all within three points of each other, which highlights how the prizes are being shared about this year, however it is as follows, Malcolm 13.00, Secretary 12.33, Neil W and Peter H on 12.00, Clarke on 10.50, with Godfrey, Dave H and T all on 10.00 Points.

Just to recap the result of the second Sunday event at Darenth Valley, our winner was new boy Malcolm G with 39 Points, who played very well off a low handicap  followed by Trevor (Handicap Secretary) with 38, let's make sure he cuts himself and in third with 35, our former Captain Peter S.  The longest drive was won by the Captain, and nearest the Pin  was won by Malcolm also, with a terrific shot.  It's still early doors in the President's Ball's race with five people into double figures leading by a whisker is the Secretary, with two points finishes on 12.3, Malcolm on 12, followed by Clarke on 10.5, Trevor and Dave H on 10 Points.

April 2009
As a round up of the first event result at Stockley Park, winning with 38 points was the Secretary (Adrian), followed by Dave H on 37, and the ever present Ken with 36.  The longest drive was won by Vincent, and nearest the Pin  was won by the organiser, Terry just inside Ken! . Obviously, this is only the first Sunday event in the President Balls Trophy but a good start for those early leaders to get points on the board!
