Welcome to the IRONS GOLF SOCIETY website. 

We are a friendly and competitive society of gay and lesbian golfers, of all ages and levels of skill. We presently have about 60 paid-up members.    

We hold monthly meetings between March and October, usually on a Sunday, at courses in and around the M25 area.  These meetings are usually attended by between 20 and 30 golfers. The usual cost for each event is between £30 - £35, or so which includes the golf, light refreshments before starting and the prize fund. 

We have a few, longer, meetings each year when we go further afield.  In 2007 we visited Bristol, South Wales, Lincolnshire and Normandy. In the past we have been to Spain, Carolina, Italy and Turkey.  

A number of our members live in Pattaya (Thailand) either all or part of the year and are frequently joined by members from the UK on holiday.  It is generally possible to organise a game with Irons members.

An Irons contingent has played for the last couple of years in the German Rainbow Open Golf Tournament  which takes place at Schwerin,  near Hamburg in the Autumn. In 2006 one of our members came first, and last year members took first and second places  In 2007, some of the main organisers from Germany played at our six-day event in Bristol in early May. Various members have also played in the Eurogames in Antwerp for the last couple of years.  

We hold a knockout matchplay competition throughout the year with matches played either at our normal events or with competitors making their own arrangements. We also have a trophy for the aggregate best six results at our monthly meetings.
