Welcome to the homepage of the Irons Golf Society. We are a group of gay and lesbian golfers based in London with members all over the UK. We have approximately 60 members with handicaps ranging from 4 to 36.
We play on Sundays over the year on courses around London and also have several residential away trips a year - in 2015 we are going to Torquay, Bournemouth and a weekend event in Oxfordshire. Contact us for more details on joining us for a round!

The Weekend Away at The Oxfordshire will comprise a 36 hole nett competition for Joan's Jugs. Alongside individual daily prizes.
The Club Championship (nett and gross) will take place at Silvermere.
The German Rainbow Open is a non-Irons event, however Irons members do travel over to Germany to participate.
Another large group of 26 golfers descended on Silvermere course for Captain's Day. The rain forecast hadn't put anyone off - and the group were rewarded, since after about 3 holes the rain generally ceased for the remainder and provided a good day's golf. Silvermere is a very good strategic course with some difficult holes over water.
For the Captain's prize - the nett trophy:
|Das C||36 points||1st|
Congratulations to Das who put together a very good round of 36 in the conditions!
For the Scratch prize - the gross club championship, we played a "Brutal" stableford since the conditions were bad for strokeplay:
|Steve I||25 points||1st|
Another good round from Steve grabbed the prize. Steve parred the last whereas unfortunately Malcolm took six to lose out. Bad luck.
Andrew G hit the longest drive and Steve I took the nearest the pin prize. The two's - the luck of the Irish, yet again - the pair of John Cf and David D shared the pot. Also, well played to David D and Malcolm G who both progress to the quarter finals of the matchplay.
