Welcome to the homepage of the Irons Golf Society. We are a group of gay and lesbian golfers based in London with members all over the UK. We have approximately 60 members with handicaps ranging from 4 to 36.
We play on Sundays over the year on courses around London and also have several residential away trips a year - in 2015 we are going to Torquay, Bournemouth and a weekend event in Oxfordshire. Contact us for more details on joining us for a round!

The Club Championship (nett and gross) will take place at Silvermere.
The German Rainbow Open is a non-Irons event, however Irons members do travel over to Germany to participate.
An eager crowd of 25 Irons golfers returned to one of our favourite venues - The Hertfordshire, with it's great clubhouse (with Bacon rolls) and short but difficult course. After some rain, the conditions eased and at the end we had sunshine!

Andrew took the prize with a good round of 36 with 21 points on the back nine. Birdie on the par-5 17th was the key, since looking at the scorecards several players were in position to win as they played the difficult closing holes. Bernie beat Ian on countback for second place. Rob had 23(!) points on front nine but rather capitulated on the back nine as the weather got BETTER. That's golf :-)
Four 2s shared the pot, well done. Andrew hit the Longest Drive on the 9th and Malcolm knocked it close on the 15th to get his 2 and also win his matchplay against Steve. David beat Trevor in the other matchplay quarterfinal. Finally, welcome to new player Dean who hit a respectable 26 points playing off 10.
