We always welcome new members.

Because it is a requirement on the courses on which we play we have to stipulate that potential members have sufficient experience of golf to enable them to play to a handicap of 36 or better. They do not have to have an official handicap but merely demonstrate, when playing in their first games with us, that they can achieve this. To demonstrate this, new entrants will play their first two rounds with a group which will include a Committee member, before an invitation to join Irons is considered.

Please send us an e-mail and we will put you on our distribution list to receive our calendar for the year, our latest newsletter and invitations to each event.  The invitations are sent out about a month in advance of each meeting asking players who want to attend to e-mail or telephone the stated organizer of the event.  All events are filled on a first come, first served, basis. You will also be asked to send a cheque for the cost of the day to our treasurer well in advance of the meeting as we have to commit ourselves financially to the particular club in advance. We have to refuse to let people play if they have not paid by the date stated in the invitation.

We are also pleased to invite players from more distant parts of the UK, who do not feel that they will be able to attend our events frequently, and players from abroad, to join us occasionally, provided they meet the playing criteria above.  If you would like to play on this basis please contact us.

Membership Subscriptions are determined at the Annual General Meeting in February for the ensuing year to reflect what we feel we need to run the Society.  The annual subscription is currently £25 per member and £15 for “country members”, those who live at least 50 miles from central London AND who will not play at more than 2 one-day events during the year.
